Sustainability at Newtopia Now

Our Mission

We recognize that Newtopia Now has an impact on our local communities and global industry. Through our sustainability program, we are striving to better identify, understand, and proactively address environmental impacts, social sustainability, and sustainable development.

New Hope Network Sustainability Program

Environmental Sustainability

  • r.cup reusable cups were featured and used throughout the event at various locations and happenings.
  • Clearly labeled 3-bin front of house systems (recycle, compost, landfill) were placed throughout the Colorado Convention Center and sorted on site to remove contamination.
  • All meals were served on reusable service ware.
  • Bottle filling stations were throughout the venue to allow for easy water bottle refill in reusable water bottles.

  • Lanyards were collected and recycled through TerraCycle.
  • The Show Directory Map was printed on FSC certified paper, which ensures products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
  • The Newtopia Now event app provided attendees with all pertinent event information while significantly reducing our environmental footprint.

Lanyard Sponsor

Thank you to SPINS for sponsoring the Newtopia Now 2025 lanyards! Our lanyards were made of a post-consumer polyester waste called Repreve Polyester Fiber. This fiber is made of 100% recycled plastic water bottles.

Banners to Bags Sustainability Zone

New Hope Network Sustainability Program is partnered with Esperanza Productions to repurpose banners from our previous events into sustainably made one-of-a-kind bags! Attendees visited the Banners to Bags Sustainability Zone to see firsthand how banners are transformed and learned how to sew their own bag to take home. Our partner, Esperanza Productions, not only supports waste diversion, but also helps provide job opportunities for individuals overcoming barriers such as addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and immigration challenges. Join us in keeping materials out of the landfill and promoting sustainability at our events!

  • Newtopia Now was powered by renewable electricity, thanks in part to the Colorado Convention Center’s 300kw rooftop Solar Array, Informa’s commitment the journey towards Net Zero.
  • Natural Day-lighting used in the Atrium
  • Lighting Level protocol set at 50% for move-in/out.
  • No HVAC during move in/move out.
  • Carbon from staff travel is automatically offset.
  • Reduce your carbon footprint and travel by train: Getting from Denver International Airport (DEN) to downtown Denver couldn't be easier thanks to the airport rail line. At a cost of $10 each way, travelers can use the A Line to get from Denver International airport to Union Station in downtown Denver and vice versa, courtesy of Regional Transportation District (RTD). The 23-mile ride takes approximately 37 minutes. More information can be found through Visit Denver.

HowGood's Environmental Impact Estimates on Beacon Discovery play a key role in supporting environmental sustainability efforts at Newtopia Now and beyond. By providing transparency in sustainability claims through its evidence-based database, HowGood environmental impact estimates, viewable on Beacon Discovery, help exhibitors showcase the positive environmental impact of their products. Each product uploaded to Beacon Discovery is eligible to receive an estimate, highlighting their commitment to eco-friendly practices. This level of insight encourages retailers to seek out environmentally conscious products, aligning with their own sustainability goals and promoting more responsible buying decisions at the show.

Social Sustainability

Newtopia Now partnered with local organization, We Don’t Waste to collect leftover product from the event to be disbursed throughout the community. We Don’t Waste works to reduce hunger and food waste in the Denver area by recovering quality, unused food from the food industry and delivering it to nonprofit partners, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, and daycare programs

Fellow industry leaders joined together to give back to the community by assembling grocery bags filled with non-perishable food and essential household items for families in need. In partnership with We Don't Waste, this hands-on experience offered a meaningful way to connect with peers while making a tangible impact.

Women in CPG, Luncheon

Back for its second year, the Women in CPG Luncheon was a powerful gathering designed to celebrate and uplift female leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in the consumer-packaged goods industry. This event provided a dynamic space for mentorship, inspiration, and connection, fostering a strong community of women and allies shaping the future of CPG.

Attendees enjoyed a curated lunch and beverages in a welcoming roundtable format, designed to spark engaging conversations and forge meaningful relationships. A live DJ set the vibe, creating an atmosphere that balanced energy and connection. Whether participants were seasoned executives, emerging founders, or industry allies, this luncheon offered a space to share insights, explore opportunities, and champion the advancement of women in CPG.
